1. Identify the corner where the wires cross over, with the wire grips with nuts. Remove the electrical tape holding the wire grips in place, then loosen the nuts enough to allow the wire to slip through when connecting the final point, but be careful not to drop them. This should be the last corner you connect.
2. Lay the sail on the floor in the approximate position under the correct connection points, ensuring the seams and turnovers face up for a smoother and neater appearance underneath. With the exception of Rainbow Shade DriZ, where the plastic surface will always be on the underside with the fabric side taking the direct sunlight.

3. Connect the points with shackles (not turnbuckles) first.
4. Attach the corners with turnbuckles next. Use a ratchet strap to pull the corners to where you can attach the turnbuckles, ensuring that the turnbuckles are at full extension. Do not tighten yet.
5. As you are attaching the final point, allow the tension wire to slip between the wire grips, increasing the wire length to allow you to reach the final turnbuckle.
6. Apply some lubricant, such as anti-seize, to the stainless turnbuckles to prevent them from binding up.
At this point you should have all of your corners connected, the wire grips still loose.

7. Apply minimal tension to all corners (approximately 10-20mm on each tensioner). At this point, you’ll need to tighten the wire grips and make sure they cannot slip any more.
8. After you have tightened the wire grips, go ahead and tighten the turnbuckles on each corner over 2 or 3 phases, tensioning evenly to help the material stretch out evenly on the tension wire. You will now have full tension on your sail; if you flick the tension cable around the edge, the sail will be very tight.

Maintenance Tips and Important Information:
Cleaning, it is wise to get rid of bird/bat droppings, and any dirt or leaves that have not blown off by wind/ rain. Similar to a car paint job, it can wear out prematurely if third-party materials or agents are left unattended. Please note degradation due to third-party agents or materials affecting the material is not covered in the manufactures or company warranty against UV degradation.
- If you can remove the shade sail and lay it out on the ground it will be easier to clean, you’ll also be able to turn it over and clean both sides.
- Do not use a high pressure cleaner on your shade sail, you could blast away the fibres that hold the shade together, if any damage is caused by a pressure cleaner, it is not covered under the warranty. If you are using a pressure cleaner, be sure to have it on a lower setting, and test a small area before proceeding with the entire sail.
- Use a soft broom, everyday hose, and a non-caustic soap. Repeat the soaping and washing process a few times for the best results.
- Keep away from fires, holes from burning embers can damage shade sails, even if the shade sails are fire-retardant or contain self-extinguishing properties
