Pull-Close Corner System: Is It Right For Your Shade Sail?

Did you know there’s more than one way to connect your Shade Sail to your post/s or other stable anchor point/s! The method you choose can make a big difference in the appearance, durability, and functionality of your shade sail installation.

The Pull-Close Corner System

The Pull-Close Corner system is designed in a way to allow for future-proofing, whereby the Sail connection is made closer to the post or anchor point, while also allowing for re-tensioning in the future if required.

This connection type is extremely versatile and efficient, offering a sleek and streamlined appearance while maintaining functionality. By bringing the shade sail closer to the post or anchor point, it reduces the visual gap often seen with traditional systems, enhancing the overall aesthetic. Additionally, the ability to re-tension the sail over time ensures long-lasting performance, even in varying weather conditions or after extended use.

Unlike traditional turnbuckles or direct shackles, the Pull-Close Corner System combines durability and convenience, making it an ideal solution for both residential and commercial shade sail installations.

Why we recommend the Pull-Close Corner system

Homeowners and installers alike will appreciate the straightforward process for making adjustments. Unlike systems that require disassembly or complex tools, the Pull-Close Corner System simplifies maintenance and ensures the sail is always performing at its best.
By addressing common pain points like sagging, maintenance, and visual gaps, the Pull-Close Corner System offers a comprehensive solution for shade sail installations that is both practical and visually appealing.

Why Traditional Turnbuckles & D Shackles might not be the right choice

Traditional turnbuckles and D shackles, while widely used, may not be the ideal choice for modern shade sail installations due to their inherent limitations. Turnbuckles, though adjustable, tend to loosen over time, requiring frequent maintenance to prevent sagging, and their bulkier design often leaves a noticeable gap between the sail and the anchor point, detracting from the overall aesthetic.

Additionally, turnbuckles are prone to corrosion in outdoor environments, which can compromise their longevity. On the other hand, D shackles are simple and cost-effective but offer no adjustability, leading to permanent sagging over time as the sail stretches or the connections loosen. Both options may fail to provide the sleek appearance, ease of maintenance, and durability that today’s homeowners and businesses demand from their shade sail systems.

Correct Installation Method

Step 1

Slide the Eye Bolt through the tube on the corner of the Shade Sail using the washer and brass nut. Do not tighten all the way as this is what will be used to tension the Sail once all points are connected. Ensure the Eye is facing the outside of the Sail.

Step 2

Connect the eye bolt to your Anchor Point, using the provided Dee Shackle, repeat for all corners.

Step 3

To tension each corner, slowly turn the brass nut until you start to feel the wire tightening, repeat for each corner including those corners that may have traditional turn buckles.

Step 4

Once you’re happy with the tension and the Shade Sail material is pulling tight, lock off your Pull Close corners using the Stainless Steel Nut to act as a Locked Nut.

Please Note

  • Lubrication of Stainless Steel thread is recommended.
  • If your shade sail has a continuous cable edge, please remember to tighten your wire grips once optimal tension is gained.
