These Captive Pin Dee Shackles are made from high-quality AISI 316 marine-grade stainless steel with a pin that does not fully remove from the shackle. This captive pin keeps the pin from accidentally falling out, preventing it from being damaged or lost. Our stainless steel shackles are specifically designed for shade sails and well as marine and general-purpose applications.
316 Grade Stainless Steel: Also known as “Marine Grade” stainless steel, since it contains about two to three per cent molybdenum to increase resistance against corrosion in high-saline environments, and is particularly suited for coastal locations. 316 Stainless Steel offers better corrosion resistance than 304 Stainless Steel for projects in coastal regions. Although it is not completely rust-proof, the alloy is more resistant to corrosion than other common stainless steels.
